Allegations

While registered as a social worker: 

1. On or around 16 November 2017, you did not communicate appropriately with service users in that:
a) You did not give Person A your full name;
b)You did not properly explain the purpose of your visit to Person A.

2. On or around 16 November 2017, you did not use appropriate language when speaking to Person A and / or Person A’s children. 

3. On or around 16 November 2017, you did not behave professionally, in that:
a) You told Person A that you had previously been disciplined by the General Social Care Council;
b) You gave your personal views on allegations against Person A’s husband. 

4. In or around November 2017, in relation to a section 47 enquiry which was allocated to you concerning Person A’s children, you:
a) Did not inform Person A you were conducting a section 47 enquiry;
b) Did not adequately record in the Record of Child Protection Investigation document one or more of the following:

i. Details of the visits completed on 15 November and 16 November 2017;
ii. Enquiries made with other agencies;
iii. Information regarding the relationship between Person A and Person A’s husband;
iv. Details of your conclusions; 

c) Did not see Person A’s children alone;
d) Saw Person A’s children in the presence of Person A’s husband;
e) Did not inform Person A of the outcome of the section 47 enquiry;
f) Did not conduct the section 47 enquiry in a way to minimise distress to the children and/or in a way that treated Person A’s family with sensitivity and respect.
g) Did not make representations to your line manager that you disagreed with the decision to conduct a section 47 enquiry
