Allegations
Whilst working as a registered social worker at Derby City Council during the period January 2006 to October 2020 you:
(1) Retained the personal contact details of Person J for no legitimate reason.
(2) Made unsolicited contact during October 2017 on one or more occasion/s with Service User A.
(3) Acted in such a way during one or more of your visits to Service User A in October 2017 that made Service User A feel under pressure to:
(a) Sign a form enabling you to have control of his Access to Work arrangements; and/or
(b) Use a different interpreting service than the one that was in place at the time.
(4) Did not disclose to your employer a potential conflict of interest relating to an interpreting company, owned by a member of your family
(5) Did not inform and/or seek approval from your line manager to work for a company by the name of One to One Services between 19 September 2017 and 19 November 2017 as you were required to do by Derby City Council’s Code of Conduct.
(6) Claimed and received sickness pay from Derby City Council for 17 October 2017 when you had made yourself available to work a shift on this date for One to One Services.
(7) Displayed inappropriate and/or unprofessional behaviour towards Service User C and/or their family in that you:
(a) Did not listen to Service User C or their spouse when they told you that Service User C did not require the services of the Deaf Team and/or
(b) Did not listen to Service User C and/or their spouse when they told you they would benefit instead from assistance with mobility and pain management; and/or
(c) Attempted to persuade Service User C to request more assistance from the Deaf Team.
(8) On a date in 2017 , you told Service User D that if they continued to use a particular care agency that you would not work with the service user anymore because you did not like the agency, or words to that effect.
(9) Displayed inappropriate and/or unprofessional behaviour towards Service user F in that you:
(a) Told Service User F that he had to have support in place; and/or
(b) Told Service User F that he could not change social workers
(10) On a date unknown, you told Service User G and/or their partner to remove the dog that was present because ‘it was dirty, and the saliva was dirty’ or words to that effect.
The matters set out at 1-10 above amount to the statutory ground of misconduct.
