Social Work England, the regulator for social workers in England, has received the Gold Talent Inclusion and Diversity Evaluation (TIDE) award for the second year in a row. This demonstrates the regulator’s commitment to embedding and fostering equality, diversity and inclusion in their workplace.

Since starting their TIDE journey in 2021, Social Work England has progressed from bronze in 2022, silver in 2023 and 2024 and is now receiving gold for the second consecutive time. The regulator received an overall score of 93%, showing that they are maintaining high standards across their organisation.

The TIDE benchmarking tool allows organisations to measure how they are performing in diversity and inclusion across 10 areas.

Social Work England received consistently impressive scores across 10 areas, highlighting the progress they have made since 2021. It scored 100% in the categories linked to inclusive leadership, values and behaviours, and wellbeing and belonging.

The regulator will continue to embed equality, diversity and inclusion across all its work so they can continue to build on its inclusive culture.

Sarah Blackmore, executive director for professional practice and external engagement at Social Work England said:

“Our work on equality, diversity and inclusion is integral to everything we do at Social Work England. We are delighted to have been awarded a gold TIDE Award for the second year in a row, which recognises our work to making inclusion, fairness and lived experience central to decision-making and organisational culture.

“We will continue to maintain and improve the high standards we have here so that Social Work England is an inclusive and supportive place to work. Alongside this we will continue the extensive programme of equality, diversity and inclusion work we are doing with social workers across the profession and will share more about this in due course.”
