Karen has been a social worker since 1994 and worked most recently in the NHS as a manager and senior manager.
Karen started her career in a local authority mental health team and practised as an approved social worker. She was then the Head of Social Work and Social Care for Central and North West London NHS Trust.
Karen also chaired the London Association of Directors of Adult Social Services mental health social care leads group which supported mental health social work, irrespective of the partnership arrangements.
Karen was also the vice chair of the National Principal Social Work network for 2 years. She is an active member of the Health Education England New Roles social work group.
