Opening session: envisioning the future of social work in England (10am to 11am)

Colum Conway, Chief Executive at Social Work England will lead a collaborative session to mark the opening of Social Work Week 2024. The session will explore Social Work England’s commitment and the wider sector ambition to drive forward positive change in the profession.

Shared Lives: helping people with support needs make the transition from children to adult care (bitesize session) (11:30am to 12pm)

This session raises awareness of an innovative approach to transitions from children services to adult social care: ‘Shared Lives'. This session shares the lived experience of those positively impacted by ‘Shared Lives’ and best practice for those using the approach.

This session will look at the children’s social care reform. This includes the Children’s Social Care National Framework and the Early Career Framework.
