Social Work England established Social Work Week to encourage a national conversation on the complex and diverse profession of social work.
Social Work Week 2026
Social Work Week 2026 will take place from Monday 16 to Friday 20 March 2026, and will coincide with World Social Work Day on Tuesday 17 March 2026.
As part of the week, Social Work England will host a free programme of events for anyone with an interest in social work.

Social Work Week and World Social Work Day fall on fixed dates in the calendar. This year, Social Work Week is likely to coincide with Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. The sessions will be recorded and be available to watch on the Social Work England YouTube channel.
