Save the date for a one-day summit into artificial intelligence (AI) and the future of social work

Social Work England and Skills for Care are hosting a free one-day summit on Wednesday 29 April 2026 in Birmingham. 

Join us to hear from the experts, social work teams and individuals using AI, test new tools, and consider how it could be used in the future of social work.  

This event will bring together colleagues from across social work, people with lived experience, policy leaders, technologists, and academics. 

It will give attendees the opportunity to:  

• hear from expert speakers 
• hear from social work teams and individuals who are already using AI  
• test new tools 
• consider how AI can be used to meet people's needs more effectively and efficiently, improve outcomes for individuals and enhance workforce wellbeing
