A different approach to recruitment and onboarding in 2022
We have strengthened how we think about equality, diversity and inclusion during partner recruitment. This includes updating recruitment briefing information. We have added more information around bias and how to minimise it.
In 2022 we also launched a targeted recruitment drive. This was to appoint a new pool of partners. We focused on reaching people from diverse communities. This included (all of the following):
- reviewing our partner role descriptors. This was to encourage applications based on skills (rather than experience)
- using recruitment platforms and networks that work with people from underrepresented backgrounds
- sending targeted communications to encourage candidates with no direct regulatory experience
- running a targeted workshop for prospective partners from Black and ethnic minority backgrounds
- using adverse impact data and biodata when benchmarking applicants
You can read further information our approach to equality, diversity and inclusion in our annual reports.
