Attending Social Work England board meetings

We are committed to openness and transparency and welcome people to attend and observe board meetings, where possible.

Members of the public can attend board meetings via a video conferencing link. Guest places for members of the public are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you want to attend and observe a board meeting, you must email us to register your interest at least 10 days before the meeting.

Some board meetings may require confidentiality, for example to discuss matters of policy in development, commercial or staff confidentiality, emerging regulatory issues, upcoming announcements or publications. That means we may need to hold a private session with the board. This will be indicated on the agenda for the meeting.

Members of the public may take written notes during a meeting but are not allowed to use mobile or recording devices unless the board has given its prior permission.

Please note, we are not able to reimburse expenses incurred by members of the public attending our board meetings.
